Why "Verbal Clay"?  It originated as a way to express my love of manipulating language (whether English, programming languages, or other languages) -- I like the feel of squishing words and phrases between my fingers and making something new.  The fact that I discovered an addiction to polymer clay some years after establishing the site only made it all the more appropriate.
